The Mayfield Thomsons

The main house was built in 1845. The addition of the porch on the east side and the building on the north side of the house were added after 1959.
The house is very distinctive in the area because of the fan shaped windows on the second story on the east and west sides of the house.
The original house was constructed from limestone bricks which were cut by the inmates at Kingston Penitentiary and then shipped to Whitby by grain ships that were returning empty (used as ballast)
